macOS Installation

Installing Docker Desktop:

Before installing delaPORTAL, Docker Desktop must be installed.

• Download Docker Desktop for macOS from the Docker website.
• Open the downloaded .dmg file.
• Drag Docker.app into your Applications folder.
• Launch Docker Desktop.
• If prompted, allow Docker to install any required helper components.
• Sign in with your Docker account or create a free account.
• Wait until Docker Desktop finishes starting (the whale icon in the menu bar will indicate it is running).
• Verify that “Start Docker Desktop when you sign in” is enabled (this is normally the default).

Important: No additional Docker configuration is required. delaPORTAL automatically manages the Docker containers it needs. There is no need to create containers, download images, or change Docker settings manually.

Detailed delaPORTAL Installation Guide:

• Download the ZIP file from your email link.
• Docker Desktop must already be installed, as the installer will start it automatically.
• On your Desktop, double-click on "delaportal-installer.zip".
• That will create a new folder on your Desktop called "delaportal-installer".
• Double-click on that folder to enter it.
• Now, double-click on "Start delaPORTAL.command".
• Apple's "Gatekeeper" protects your Mac by warning you before running software that isn't digitally signed and notarized. Because the delaPORTAL installer is distributed directly by us and isn't currently signed or notarized by Apple, macOS may prevent it from launching the first time. **This is expected.** Choose one of the following methods to allow the installer to run:
• Recommended (one-time fix):
• Click "Done"
• Open "Terminal"
• Change to the installer folder:
• cd ~/Desktop/delaportal-installer
• xattr -d com.apple.quarantine "Start delaPORTAL.command"
• xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Desktop/delaportal-installer
• Close Terminal
• Double-click on "Start delaPORTAL.command".
• If you prefer not to use Terminal:
• Open "System Settings" → "Privacy & Security"
• Scroll all the way to the bottom.
• You should see something like:
• "Start delaPORTAL.command was blocked…" with an "Open Anyway" button
• Click "Open Anyway"
• On the pop-up, click "Open Anyway" again
• You will need a Touch ID or administrator's password now, and after entering that the installation will continue.
• Close "System Preferences"
• The initial installation may take several minutes, especially the first time, while Docker downloads and prepares its components. Please allow the installer to finish.
• During installation you may see messages beginning with "WARNING" from MySQL. These are normal informational messages generated by MySQL itself and do not indicate a problem with your installation.
• When installation completes, your web browser will automatically open the delaPORTAL setup page.
• Fill in ALL fields, as they are required.
• Record your administrator password in a safe place. Email password recovery is not yet available because email has not been configured.
• Any time you want to use delaPORTAL, simply double-click "Start delaPORTAL.command". It will automatically start Docker if necessary and then open delaPORTAL in your browser.
